General and family dentistry is the foundation of a healthy smile. At Allure Dental Arts, we take care of patients of all ages — from a child’s first tooth to an adult’s full mouth rehabilitation — so your whole family can come to one office and see a team that knows them.

What it is

General and family dentistry covers the everyday care that keeps your teeth and gums healthy. This includes:

• Routine cleanings and check-ups
• Cavity fillings
• Fluoride treatments and sealants for kids
• Gum health monitoring
• Treatment of small problems before they become big ones
• Referrals within our office to a specialist (periodontist, endodontist, or pediatric dentist) when needed

Because we have several specialists on our team, most of your care can happen in one place. You don’t need to drive across town for a root canal or a gum treatment.

What to expect

A typical general dentistry visit takes about an hour. We start with a quick chat about how you’ve been feeling, any pain or sensitivity, and any new medications or health changes. Then your hygienist will clean your teeth and take any X-rays your dentist needs to see what is going on below the surface.

Next, your dentist examines your teeth, gums, bite, and the soft tissues of your mouth. If we find something that needs attention, we will walk you through what it is, why it matters, and what your options are — including the option to wait and watch in some cases. You leave with a clear plan and an estimate before any treatment begins.

For kids, we slow down and explain everything in friendly terms. Most children feel much more comfortable by their second or third visit.
