What to bring

• A photo ID
• Your dental insurance card (if you have one)
• A list of medications and supplements you take
• Any recent dental records or X-rays from a previous dentist
• The names of any specialists you currently see
• A list of questions or concerns — write them down so nothing gets forgotten

What to expect at your first visit

1. Check-in. Our front desk team will verify your information and have you fill out anything that's missing from your intake form. Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early.
2. Meet your team. You'll meet your dentist, hygienist, and the staff who will be working with you. We'll take a moment to learn what you're looking for and any past dental experiences that matter.
3. Exam and X-rays. We'll examine your teeth, gums, and bite. X-rays may be taken if you're due for them or if we need to look more closely at something specific.
4. Cleaning. Most first visits include a professional cleaning. If you have a lot of buildup or signs of gum disease, we may recommend a follow-up visit for a deeper cleaning instead.
5. Treatment plan. Your dentist will sit down with you and walk through anything they noticed. You'll get a clear plan — including the option to wait when that's reasonable — and a written estimate.
6. Schedule next steps. Before you leave, we'll book your next visit and answer any final questions.

Plan for about an hour for your first visit so we don't have to rush.

We accept most major PPO plans, including:

We also accept Medi-Cal and offer in-house financing options. CareCredit is commonly accepted as well.

Bringing your child for the first time

We see kids from their first tooth through their teen years. For children's first visits, we keep things short, friendly, and low-pressure. You're welcome to come back to the room with your child — we want them to feel comfortable.

Tell us when you call if your child has had any difficult experiences at the dentist before. We'll adjust our pace and approach so the visit goes well.

You're not alone — and we won't rush you. We offer sedation options for patients who feel anxious or are having longer procedures (see our sedation page). When you call, let us know how you're feeling and we'll plan extra time so you're not waiting in the chair.
